Furuhashi, a small sake brewery in the castle town

Tsuwano Town, the “Little Kyoto of Sanin,” where Furuhashi Sake Brewery is located, is a small town in a mountain basin that is visited by over 1 million tourists every year.

There are many streets throughout the town that make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time to the good old days of Japan.

Located in the center of town, Tonomachi Street, where old samurai residences once stood, has beautiful white walls and moats, with countless carp swimming gracefully in the moats, delighting the eyes of tourists.

Our sake brewery is located on Honmachi Street, adjacent to Tonomachi Street.
Honmachi Street was also known as Honichi Street in the past, and was lined with merchant houses, remnants of which still remain today.
As the brewery is located right on a four-way intersection, it has long been nicknamed the “corner bar” by locals.
The store and brewery buildings are designated as nationally registered tangible cultural properties.
